Amanda Cawley is an award-winning orchestral composer known for crafting fantastical themes for Film, Television and Games.

Inspired by the power of music to enhance storytelling, Amanda specializes in creating sonic landscapes that connect narrative concepts with melodic motifs, reflecting them through carefully chosen instrumentation and soundscapes. Her talent for breathing life into characters and worlds through music has garnered recognition and admiration throughout Canada and beyond. 

With meticulous attention to detail, Amanda weaves memorable melodies with evocative orchestrations. Her compositions seamlessly guide the audience through the highs and lows of the narrative. By capturing the essence of each scene and character, Amanda’s music becomes an integral part of the storytelling process, enhancing the experience and immersing the audience into an enchanted world. Collaboration is at the heart of Amanda’s creative process. She embraces open and transparent communication, recognizing the value of input from multiple perspectives and ensuring her music aligns seamlessly with the project’s evolving vision. 

Amanda’s music has garnered critical acclaim

In 2024, Amanda received two Canadian Screen Music Awards for Ostinato (Best Original Score for Animated Series or Special) and Siegebreaker (Best Original Score for Games and Interactive Media). She is also a Leo Award winner (2022) for Visionary Gardeners and received Best Original Score recognition for Never Broken at the 2023 Best Shorts Competition. Her work has earned multiple additional Leo Award and Canadian Screen Music Award nominations between 2018 and 2024. Amanda was recognized by the SOCAN Foundation as the grand prize winner of the 2024 Emerging Screen Composer Awards. 

Her credits include 104 episodes of the internationally distributed animated series Fireman Sam and 20 episodes of Ageless Gardens, for which she received nominations at the Canadian Screen Awards and Canadian Screen Music Awards.

Amanda completed the Screen Composer Academy’s Film and Games Composer Intensive in Athens, Greece, under the mentorship of Richard Bellis, earning a Film & Game Scoring Certificate of Excellence. She holds a Diploma in Contemporary Music and Technology from Selkirk College and has completed Level 10 studies in history, theory, and piano performance through the Royal Conservatory of Music.

Based in British Columbia, Canada, Amanda works from her studio while collaborating with orchestras and clients worldwide, including Netflix, BBC, Mattel, and studios such as WildBrain, Kickstart Entertainment, Front Street Pictures, Great Pacific Media, and many more.
